Steve and Sarah’s Wedding (Whitehall manor Virginia – wedding photographer)

August 28, 2011 | Filed Under Weddings | Leave a Comment

I had to start promising my friends that I would leave my camera at home when I attended their weddings – after all, if I”m a guest I”m there to enjoy the party, not work the wedding right? Well, I’m doing my best… but what can I say? I’m just a sucker for beautiful couples. When we arrived at the reception I saw this swing and immediately thought of what a great picture location it would be! When I saw that their wedding photographer didn’t take any pictures there, I ran out to the car and got my camera. Steve and Sara were kind enough to entertain a photographer with a vision and I”m so glad that they did because these shots came out exactly as beautiful as I had imagined!!!

Maybe one day I”ll be able to leave the camera at home – but I’ll have no motivation to as long as the pictures keep coming out like this. Congratulations you two!

3 Katherines (Meadow Lark Gardens Norther Virginia Senior Portrait)

Senior portraits are always a blast- teenagers (girls especially) know just how to rock a photo shoot with multiple outfit changes and endless energy! So when Kathrine’s mom asked if I would do her daughter’s senior pictures I jumped at the chance. This shoot was especially fun because not only was there one Katherine, there were THREE!!! These three girls all grew up within one house of each other and went to the same elementary school, and now they’re all headed to different colleges.

They started with a basic white top and jeans.  They were so relaxed I hardly had to give them any direction at all – which is good because it was difficult to let which katherine know it was her that I wanted to move a little to the right. There were multiple occasions where I said “katherine, could you turn your shoulders a bit more?” and they all would. It certainly made for some good smiles though.

CKATHRYN-313Looking so natural! CKATHRYN-414

Every single one of these ladies had totally knock out eyes, I had to get close ups! The best light was in a grassy spot and not a single one of the girls thought twice about sitting right down in the grass, even though it was raining. Could I have asked for better models?

We took a couple shots with all of the girls in their  college spirit wear….

And finished up the day with a shot of them walking – this is the sidewalk that they would meet up on every day on their way to elementary school. CKATHERYN-1061

Good luck at college ladies! I know you’ll stay in touch. :)

Baby Alayna ( Northern Virginia newborn photography )

Alayna’s dad assured me that she was the most laid back baby- “She only ever cries if she’s hungry”. Well, that was absoultely the truth, Alayna was such a dream, she settled in wherever we put her and quickly fell right asleep. Her older brother didn’t want her to miss any of the picture taking fun and thought maybe he should wake her up, but after some strong encouragement he was convinced that he should let her sleep. Not wanting to miss out he jumped in for a few pictures too!

I couldn’t get enough of this frilly pink skirt! Besides, who doesn’t love baby feet?

She really was the perfect baby model. She only woke up for a minute and after I got a few quick shots of those beautiful brown eyes she fell right back asleep!
